truck side newMy current business started out as a family business, founded back in 1969 by my father, Edward J. Bandstra.  Although I had helped him during the summers as young as the age of 13, I didn’t start working full time for him until 1973.  I worked under my dad for about 13 years and then attained my state license in 1982.  In 1985, my dad retired, and the business became John A. Bandstra Plumbing & Heating.

During the course of all those years, I had worked on just about every type of residential and light commercial plumbing & heating situation imaginable, learning much of what I know today, from my father.  As the decades went by, my work changed from new housing to building renovations…from boiler installations to boiler service…and from bathroom remodeling to all types of residential plumbing repairs and service.  While all that other work still occurs, my main focus at this point is on residential repair/service work, in both plumbing and heating…all the types of jobs that the Home Depot guy cannot help you with!

I am located in Midland Park, NJ and have been servicing the Bergen/Passaic area for 43 years.

I run a one man shop.  When you call, it will be me, and me only, who knocks on your door. I run a very personalized business and get to know my customers very well…and they get to know me.  I enjoy what I do, like fixing things, making people happy, and am very fair with my billing.  I still go with the saying that, “The customer is always right”!
